    M.Sc. (Osmania University) and M.S.E. (University of Michigan, USA), joined the Department in 1953. He held various positions starting from Junior Officer, Director, Engineering Group and Additional Director, BARC. He held simultaneously the position of Project Director and Officer on Special Duty (Heavy Water Projects). He was Director, Division of Nuclear Fuel Cycle, IAEA, Vienna from 1980 to 1985. He was awarded Padma Shri in 1967. His contribution to Indian Heavy Water Programme has been seminal. It was his vision, conviction and confidence which evolved multi-pronged approach for heavy water production with a sole aim of making India a self-reliant. Today all of our Heavy Water Plants are performing exceedingly well and this itself is tribute to his pioneering work.

    B.Sc. (Tech.) and M.S. from Washington State Institute of Technology (USA), joined the Department then AEET in 1960. He was responsible for design and development of pilot plant for Hydrogen Sulphide-Water exchange process at HWD of BARC and scale up of the same at HWP Kota and HWP Manuguru. He held various key positions starting from Project Manager, Dy. Project Director and then rose to the level of Additional Chief Executive (Sulphide Group) before superannuating on 31.12.1987. The success of sulphide process is owed to his vision, leadership and pioneering contributions in every aspect of plant design, construction, commissioning and stabilizing the operation.

    M.Sc. Tech. in Chemical Engineering joined the Department at HWP Nangal as Plant Manager. Under his stewardship, the Ammonia-Hydrogen based Heavy Water Plants at Baroda, Tuticorin, Talcher, Thal Hazira gained firm footing and stabilized the operation. He held key positions as Project Manager at HWP Baroda, Dy.Project Director, Director Technical (Ammonia Group). He was finally designated as Additional Chief Executive (Ammonia Group) before superannuating on 30.9.1988. He contributed significantly to the development and growth of Ammonia based Heavy Water Plants and also guided the setting up of NH3-H2O Front End Pilot Plant at HWP Baroda. Industrial scale and demonstration plant based on Pilot Plant studies is waiting to be commissioned.
