Heavy Water Board along with BARC, National Centre for Compositional Characterization of Materials (NCCCM) & HWP(Manuguru) jointly organized a Public Outreach Program (POP) for the farmers of Aswapuram & nearby villages and students of Heavy Water Plant, Manuguru, Bhadradri Kothagudem Dist., Telangana on 7/10/2021 & 08/10/2021.

Aim of the program was to establish AKRUTI (Advanced Knowledge and Rural Technology Implementation) center at Aswapuram to encourage / empower rural masses to become entrepreneurs. Various technologies useful for rural areas developed by BARC & NCCCM were demonstrated to them in their field/land. Besides the students of AECS, Manuguru were addressed by the officials to make them aware of importance of scientific organizations like BARC/HWB in the country.

Around 35 farmers/villagers and 100 students attended the program.

In general farmers were delighted over the initiation of HWB, Mumbai in spreading advanced technologies useful for the farmers and came forward to take active part in the activities of AKRUTI center at HWP(Manuguru), Aswapuram which will serve as a fulcrum for delivering various technologies to the farmers and villagers around the center.”
